Create A Comfortable Living Space Outdoors Without Breaking The Bank

by Tara Pena

After working hard all day, you deserve to come home and unwind in comfortable surroundings. Turn the corner of your screened-in porch into a special oasis that can be enjoyed daily. You don't have to spend a lot of money to get satisfying results. Just think about the objects you enjoy and see what comparable items you have lying around your house. If there is something you want to add that you don't already own, purchase it from a discount store or thrift shop.

Chaise Lounges And Bean Bag Chairs

Set up some comfortable items to lay back on. Chaise lounges and bean bag chairs are inexpensive and perfect for someone who feels like tipping over after a hard day's work. You can come home from work and lay right down. Set a radio on a small table next to the chairs. Listen to your favorite station while your eyes are closed. Music works wonders and can melt your worries away. Relaxation tapes also have positive effects. Listen to rain pouring down or birds chirping to ease your mind.

Inspirational Artwork

If you have some favorite paintings tucked away in your attic, now is the time to bring them out. Hang one or two up in the area where you will be relaxing. Sometimes, staring at a beautiful object can help you to divert your attention so that you aren't dwelling on a situation that occurred during the day. Instead, you will be able to think about something positive.

An example of an inspiring piece of artwork could be a beach scene. Most people love the beach, therefore, this type of picture could help you think about happier times and maybe even get you thinking about a trip in the future.

Snacks And Beverages

Add a mini fridge to the corner of your porch. Keep it stocked with your favorite snacks and beverages. You will appreciate that everything is in arm's length and you won't have to walk in and out of the house to get what you would like. After you have a snack and rest for a bit, you will feel rejuvenated and will remain satisfied until it is time for dinner.

Your screened-in porch will be an area where you can rest after working, but it will also come in handy during other situations. You can spend time out there when company comes to visit. They may appreciate the informal setting and you will not have to worry about disrupting any of your other family members who are inside. It also is a great place to spend time when you feel like being outdoors but want to have a comfortable spot to sit. Try different decorations and features until you come up with a setup that satisfies you, and if you have further questions, consult with professionals such as Land Concepts Inc.
